Luditte Saboteur white South Africa - Walker Bay 2023
An exciting white cuvée of Chenin Blanc with small quantities of Sauvignon Blanc and Viognier is a highly aromatic white from Niels Verburg's micro-winery in Walker Bay, South Africa. The somewhat more intensive mash fermentation with longer skin contact leads to intense flavours of black tea, pome fruit and floral notes. The crown cap has a long history and actually comes from the first champagne fermentation. (2 bottles)

Mitolo Wines Savitar Shiraz 2018
The great 2018 vintage is also a source of great joy for Frank Mitolo and his winemaker Ben Glaetzer. Great wines such as the super-premium Shiraz called "Savitar" have been created here. The fruit comes from old vines in McLarenVale, more precisely from the Whites Valley with cooling sea breezes from the Gulf of St Vincent. After a cool fermentation, the wine was matured for 20 months in hogsheads made from 85% new French oak, 5% new American oak and 10% older French oak. It smells fleshy and smoky with liquorice and juicy red and dark fruit. The wine is lush, with plenty of spice but also firm acidity and savoury tannins. (2 bottles)

Markus Schneider is and remains an enfant terrible on the German wine scene. Not many winemakers would dare to blend the classic Bordeaux varieties Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon with Cabernet Dorsa, Syrah and Blaufränkisch. However, the result of this highly unconventional blend proves the Palatinate winemaker right. The "Black Print" is powerful, dense and spicy with intense cherry and blackcurrant fruit and a strong woody spice on top. Rarely in Germany do you get so much flavour in your glass at this price.
