Francis Ford Coppola Winery Diamond Collection Claret 2019
Star director Francis Ford Coppola has been producing wine for half a century. In 1975, he acquired the Inglenook Winery in Napa Valley, and in 2006 he significantly expanded his involvement by purchasing another estate. A wealth of experience that clearly sets him apart from the many celebrity/winemaker projects of recent years. And which is of course also reflected in the quality of his wines. For example, in the "Claret' of the "Diamond Collection', named after the old British name for red Bordeaux, the "crown jewel' of the series according to the estate. Grape material from all of Coppola's Californian vineyards is vinified into an early, accessible Bordeaux blend with plenty of fruit (plum, blackberry, cassis) and spice (cocoa, mint, black pepper).
