Damascene
Damascene Vineyards was only founded in 2019, but is already one of the spearheads of viticulture in the Cape.
This rare single-varietal dry Sémillon comes from vines planted in 1942 and 1962. In addition, 15% Sauvignon Gris from old vines was used. The grapes were harvested by hand, destemmed and fermented spontaneously in large wooden barrels. The wine then matured in Austrian oak barrels. The Sémillon has a delicate aroma of yellow flowers, lemon and grapefruit, peach and apricot with an elegant note of lanolin and flint. On the palate, the wine offers body and structure with a tart, resinous attack, plenty of energy and strong acidity, juice and creamy texture, freshness and a salty finish. A wine full of character that you don't have in your glass every day.
