When it comes to red Burgundy varieties, the Rudolf Fürst winery is a bank for absolute top quality. In addition to the two premium vineyards Centgrafenberg and Hundsrück, a Pinot Noir of remarkable class is also vinified from the Erste Lage Berg vineyard in Bürgstadt. No wonder, as the grapes in this wine also come from vines exclusively from plots located within the two Grand Cru sites. The 2021 Berg is somewhat more forest-fruity than its predecessor, but shares its highly fermented dry style. It is also a fine, top-class food companion that does not play itself into the foreground, for example with pink rack of lamb in a herb coating or duck breast.

At home in Bürgstatt am Main, in the westernmost corner of Franconia, the winery looks back on a tradition of almost 400 years. in 1997, Paul and Monika Fürst took over the business, renovated parcels and acquired more. Since 2018, the management has been in the hands of their son Sebastian and his wife Isabell. Today, the vineyard covers 21 ha and is 60% planted with Pinot Noir. In addition, there is Frühburgunder, Chardonnay, Weißburgunder and Riesling.
