Domaine Trapet is a family business founded in 1859 that produces its wines in the traditional way with very moderate use of wood. As a result, the wines retain their fine fruit and never appear aggressive or overloaded. The "Cuvée 1859", which dates back to the founding year, is made from the best plots of Gevrey Chambertin according to strict biodynamic guidelines.

It was in 2002 that Andrée Trapet, Jean-Louis Trapet's wife, decided to continue running her Alsatian family's winery, travelling from Gevrey-Chambertin to Beblenheim every free weekend. Her son Pierre now runs the estate and is attracting attention with his wines.
