Penfolds BIN 28 Kalimna Shiraz 2020
The "BIN 28 Shiraz" is Penfolds' interpretation of a Syrah from warm vineyards. In 2020, a hot, long summer will be added to the mix. First produced in 1959, "BIN 28" was originally named after the famous vineyard in the Barossa Valley called "Kalimna", which Penfolds bought in 1945 and from which the wine originally came. Today, the "BIN 28" is a cuvée from several regions and vineyards, with the Barossa Valley always being particularly well represented. The 2020 "Shiraz" impresses with an abundance of juicy, fleshy fruit and jam notes that are so dense that they even overshadow the wood notes. The fruit is accompanied by lots of spices and Black Forest kirsch. Not to forget the amount of umami, fine acidity and silky tannins.
