Penfolds Reserve BIN 21A 2021

While the other Chardonnays from Penfolds are typical multi-regional blends, the fruit of the "Reserve Bin 21A" comes exclusively from the Adelaide Hills. The Chardonnay was pressed as a whole bunch and matured for nine months in French barriques with 50% new wood. As the vintage was cool, the wine is characterised by an elegant citrus note and a tangy acidity. It is a fascinatingly fine, delicate, powerful wine that is like an Australian-style Chablis Grand Cru. Penfolds Chardonnays have never been as good as they are today.
