Penfolds BIN 311 Chardonnay 2021
Originally, the "BIN 311" was called "Tumbarumba", a reference to its origin in New South Wales. Today, however, the fruit comes from Tasmania, Piccadilly and Henty. The Chardonnay thus reflects Penfold's approach of "going where the fruit grows best and where it best suits the style". The "BIN 311" - not unlike the "Yattarna" - is characterised by lemon and lime aromas, which merge into slightly roasted notes and a creamy texture. They are accompanied by a mixture of cashew, grapefruit, peach and apples with peel. The wine was matured for eight months in French oak barriques with 41% new wood.
