Domäne Wachau
Domäne Wachau, under the management of Roman Horvath and Heinz Frischengruber, is not only one of the most important wine estates in Austria, but also an association of over 40 winegrowers and winegrowing families.
The "Federspiel? comes from the Kreuzberg vineyard in Rossatz on the southern bank of the Danube. The terroir is characterized by paragneiss and amphibolite rock. The soil and the cool downdraughts at night, which lead to large temperature differences between day and night, ensure elegance and freshness. The wine has a lively acidity, is delicately spicy, yellow-fruity and is reminiscent of meadow flowers and herbs, a little pepper and nuts. On the palate, it is firm and balanced, agile and fine.
