Winery Hirtzberger Axpoint Grüner Veltliner Smaragd 2022

Deep, clayey soil characterises the Axpoint vineyard, which is located close to the legendary Singerriedel. Only Grüner Veltliner grows here. The wine that Franz Hirtzberger has been making here since 1999 is particularly full-bodied and juicy, yet - typically Hirtzberger - retains its complex, elegant character. Silky is an attribute that is used in the tasting notes of all Hirtzberger Veltliners - and it is more than appropriate here too. Lush, ripe stone fruit and tangerine zest are complemented by Veltliner peppery flavours, herbal tones and perfectly integrated acidity, which gives the wine both a great deal of freshness and considerable ageing potential.
