When talking about the Grosses Gewächs from the Felseneck, terms such as "legend', "wine olympus' or "Holy Grail of Riesling' are used. Year after year, this wine is one of the greatest German Rieslings. The 2021 vintage is no exception - quite the opposite: Stephan Reinhardt awarded it 99-100 points in WINE ADVOCATE and stated that "a legend is in the making here'. A wine whose complexity and greatness is hard to grasp. Depth, minerality, multi-layered flavours - everything comes together here and, despite all the vibrant energy, remains incredibly elegant and of an almost dancing lightness. The Schäfer-Fröhlich family winery in Bockenau on the Nahe has been in existence for around 200 years. Today it is run by Tim Fröhlich and his wife Nicole. But the parents Karin and Hans-Dieter Fröhlich already brought the winery forward with the acquisition of outstanding vineyards and the production of distinctive Rieslings.
