This wine is one of the great classics among Wachau wines. The vineyard lies directly behind the baroque Kellerschlössel in Dürnstein, making it the Domäne Wachau's local vineyard. It is characterized by primary rock soil on light Gföhler gneiss, 90 percent of which consists of feldspar and quartz. The "Ried Kellerberg Riesling Smaragd? 2021 is a typically powerful, intense, concentrated wine with a perfect structure. It is reminiscent of mango and raisins, oranges, peaches and pineapple, provides a mouth-watering salinity, hints at a citric astringency and has plenty of grip on the palate.
