Heartland Wines
The Heartland story began in the late 1990s when winemaker Ben Glaetzer became excited about the potential of South Australia's lesser-known regions, particularly Langhorne Creek.
Grapes from vines at least 50 years old from the best vineyards in the region form the basis for the Heartland Wines flagship. The name "Director's Cut' is a tongue-in-cheek reference to winemaker and owner Ben Glaetzer's uncompromising selection of the grapes, which are harvested exclusively at night for temperature reasons. The result is a perfectly balanced Shiraz with a deep, opaque puce colour and intense notes of mulberry and blackberry. Rose, aniseed and oriental spices complete the impressive aroma spectrum.
