Since this somewhat remote vineyard introduced state-of-the-art cellar technology around ten years ago and began working in a very sustainable and organic way, the Chevalier has made another huge leap into the top league of Pessac wines under the guidance of star oenologist Stéphane Derenoncourt. The reds in particular have benefited greatly from this. The wines have become cleaner, more powerful and longer-lasting. Domaine de Chevalier has always impressed with the fine, original flavours of the terroir of this appellation. The 2020 is typical of Chevalier and in its Burgundian style rather red berry with a silky texture but enormous pressure on the palate and impresses with a beautiful balance right up to the long finish.

The Domaine de Chevalier is basically a clearing in the middle of a forest. There were already vineyards here in the 17th century. However, the birth of the estate dates back to the 19th century. Since then, there have only been a few winegrowers from the Ricard family before the Bernard family took over in 1983, who still run the estate today.
