Gran Moraine Yamhill-Carlton Chardonnay 2018

Oregon - Wilamette Valley, United States, White wine, Chardonnay
0.75 l

The rather cool climate of the Oregon growing region is predestined for the Burgundy grape varieties Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Unfortunately, the wines are often somewhat overloaded with new wood. This is absolutely not the case with Gran Moraine. Whether they had the wines of the Côte de Beaune in mind when producing this marvellous 2018 Chardonnay from the Yamhill hill is a moot point. The result is a highly complex, elegant Chardonnay. The wood is well integrated and the wine has a subtle aroma of peach and melon. A ripe acidity and subtle minerality lend it tension and freshness. A Chardonnay par excellence. And if you do want to compare it with the great whites from Burgundy, it is one thing above all: much cheaper for this enormous class!
