Château Vray Croix de Gay
Château Vray Croix de Gay is a historic vineyard in the heart of Pomerol. The name comes from a wayside cross that served as a guide for pilgrims on the Way of St James towards Santiago de Compostela.
The winery was recently taken over by Château Calon Segur from St. Estèphe. Vray Croix de Gay has always stood for the typically powerful Pomerol style, but never without finesse. The 2012 in particular demonstrates a great deal of fine elegance in a very good year for the right bank. Tertiary aromas with a subtle truffle note and ripe dark fruit are already coming to the fore. A wonderful accompaniment to fine game birds!
