Daphne Glorian can confidently be counted among the most famous and best female winemakers in Spain. She was one of the rediscoverers of the forgotten Priorat in 1988 and today produces some of the greatest wines there.
Clos Erasmus 2014
The deep purple 2014 "Clos Erasmus? is a blend of 70% Grenache and 30% Syrah. As usual, it matured for about 18 months before bottling, mostly in French oak barrels (40% new each vintage), but also partly in amphorae. The wine is now entering its perfect drinking window. It offers a fantastic bouquet of cherry liqueur and boysenberry, cigar box, anise, cloves, nutmeg, chocolate, leather, violets, and smoke. On the palate, lively acidity and deep minerality combine with beautifully integrated oak. A meaty, smooth, and delicious wine!
