Stephan Reinhardt has scored the dream mark for the debut vintage of the "Große Lage' from the Serrig Vogelsang domain. A start like a thunderbolt. Markus Molitor acquired the domain, which was founded by Kaiser Wilhelm II in 1904, in 2016 and restructured it with great determination. 80 per cent of the 25-hectare monopole vineyard was replanted with carefully selected material from old ungrafted vines, and the cellar was stocked with fine 3,000-litre Stockinger barrels. The aim: classic Saar Riesling at the absolute top level. The critics enthusiastically welcomed the debut and forecast that the 2022 will have ageing potential into the second half of this century.
