In addition to the "Grosse Lage' with its classic dry Saar flavour, Markus Molitor vinifies only one other wine from the 25 hectares of his prestigious Domäne Serrig project: a classic, i.e. residual sweet Kabinett. Here too, the grapes are hand-picked and strictly selected, and a short period on the skins adds structure and a hint of phenolics to the wine. The wine is then matured for ten months on the lees in steel tanks. The result is no less impressive than the "Große Lage'. Flint meets highly refined Riesling fruit. Herbal coolness meets subtle residual sweetness. The finale: a long, multi-faceted finish. A wine that does not need to shy away from comparison with the Olympus of Saar Riesling - the Scharzhofberger.
