Single-varietal Merlot from the still young Omina Romana winery, founded by the German Börner family in 2007. Producing uncompromising top quality was the aim here from the outset, and the "Linea Ars Magna' is its pinnacle. The single-varietal Merlot from this premium line is based on strict selection, fermentation in stainless steel and wooden vats and two years of ageing in 100% new French barriques, followed by six months in stainless steel tanks. The result is a full-bodied Merlot with juice and power, a firm structure and typical Merlot flavours. Dark redcurrant and plum, some fig, fleshy notes and black olive, plus plenty of garrigue. Viticulture has existed in the Latium region for around 2500 years. The Omina Romana winery, founded by Anton and Katharina Börner, has been in existence since 2007. With the clear goal of producing only top-quality wines, the founders chose an area near Velletri, 40 kilometres southeast of Rome.
