Penfolds Bin 150 Marananga Shiraz 2021
At Penfolds, "BIN 150' means single-varietal Shiraz from the Barossa Valley. More precisely, from the iron oxide-rich red soils around the small village of Marananga, 120 souls, 70 kilometres south of Adelaide. The wine is typical of the variety and region for a modern Barossa Valley Shiraz. Intense black cherry and plum, spicy notes and finely polished tannins, plus dark chocolate and a subtle hint of peppermint give the wine not only a hint of After Eight chocolates, but also plenty of stature and spicy depth. Now at the beginning of its drinking maturity, and with development potential for another two to three decades.
