The name says it all - because the wine grows right by the sea and the light breeze gives it a slightly salty note. 90% Sauvignon Blanc and 10% Semillon sounds a lot like white Bordeaux BUT a small part is aged in wood. Paired with the South African sun, the result is a serious yet fruity wine with harmonious acidity and good length. A favorite wine of our PESE customers.

groote Post was built in 1808 as a facility for the surveillance of grazing land. Today, the name is known mainly to lovers of excellent South African wines. Peter and Nick Pentz are the third and fourth generations to run the business. Actually, the two come from a "dairy cattle dynasty".
