In the midst of the very best terroir in St. Emilion, a real shooting star has emerged in recent years. The wine maker from the Californian superstars of Verité, which has now been upgraded to Grand Cru Classé, has created a great wine in this 2023 vintage. The high proportion of 50% Cabernet Franc ensures a cool, fresh aroma. Cherry, blueberries and raspberries, plus some peppery notes, lots of florality and ripe tannins lead to great harmony and a long mineral finish. Great!

The more recent history of Château Lassegue is essentially characterised by two wine enthusiasts. Jess Jackson from the American wine dynasty Jackson Family and the winegrower Pierre Seillan. Since 2003, both have continuously advanced the St. Emilion vineyard with its great terroir, in the direct neighbourhood of Château Pavie and Château Troplong Mondot, and finally led it into the premium league of the Grand Cru Classé in 2022.
