The always controversial 1er Cru A from St. Emilion now seems to be reflecting on its outstanding terroir and no longer letting the cellar technology do the talking. Since the takeover by Vignobles Perse, the wine has become more concentrated and modern. It has always had its fan base, but since then it has not been for the feint-hearted. Recently, there has been a noticeable departure from this consistent strategy. Especially in the 2023 vintage, it once again radiates a little of the elegance and finesse that made it famous.
