This is partly due to the very best terroir in the immediate vicinity of Petrus and partly due to Alexandre Thienpont's inimitable wine style. Every year he manages to create this fascinating balance of Pomerol power and finesse. We were once again fascinated by the unique florality of the 2023, which makes this wine so famous. Dark berries and the typical violet notes, plus plenty of pressure and length. The beguiling lightness of this wine never ceases to amaze.
