Château Haut Ferrand 2012

Bordeaux, France, Red wine, wine cuvée
0.75 l

Extremely elegant Pomerol with juicy red fruit and silky tannins. 2012 was a very good year in Pomerol. The wines are more elegant than powerful. The fruit is not jammy but ultra-fine. The wine has a pleasantly restrained finesse for this appellation. The wonderfully subtle tertiary aromas of black truffles make it the ideal accompaniment to dishes with similar aromas. One of our final discoveries at the last Wine Paris!

Château Haut Ferrand

The history of Domaine Ferrand began when Jean-Baptiste Gasparoux came to Libourne from southern Auvergne in 1902 to settle there as a merchant. At the time, Libourne was just as important a trading centre as Bordeaux. Jean-Baptiste Gasparoux and his son Fernand were so successful that Fernand was able to fulfil his dream of owning his own vineyard in 1934.
