Winery Dr. Bürklin-Wolf Wachenheimer Gerümpel P.C. Riesling 2023

Also called the "little Pechstein,? the Gerümpel is located right next door on the border between Forst and Wachenheim. The Riesling here is similarly dark and smoky as that of its legendary Forst neighbor. Basalt, yellow and red sandstone dominate the soil's geology. This forms the basis for a structure of utmost clarity, full of intense, vibrant minerality (flint!). Full ripeness, lively acidity, and a fine yet intense citrus-driven fruit complete the impressive flavor profile. The 2023 "Gerümpel? is an incredibly precise Riesling, perfectly balancing rich spice and energetic tension. Already enjoyable decanted, but certainly with potential well into the second half of this century!
