Winery Teliani Valley
Georgia's history is inextricably linked to viticulture. It has presumably existed there for 8,000 years with over 500 of its own grape varieties. The Teliani Valley winery, founded in 1997, draws on this heritage.
This Georgian red wine was made from the traditional Saperavi variety and matured in stainless steel. The variety presents itself in an opaque, dark purple colour and smells of blackberries, sloes and plums, a little tar like young Syrah and also of herbs and cool rocks. On the palate, this is a juicy, cool and elegant wine with a present but polished tannin, a present acidity and a clear structure. We particularly like the fresh, cool, mineral flavour of this unfiltered wine.
