Winery Teliani Valley
Georgia's history is inextricably linked to viticulture. It has presumably existed there for 8,000 years with over 500 of its own grape varieties. The Teliani Valley winery, founded in 1997, draws on this heritage.
This wine was matured in the traditional Georgian way. This means that the grapes of the Kisi grape variety were fermented and matured in a Quevri. A quevri is a large clay vessel buried in the ground. The contact of the wine with the grape skins over the winter produces the special amber colour. The white wine also acquires tannins like a red wine. The "Glekhuri' has an elegant aroma of soft apricots, a little acacia honey, flowers, herbs, a little iodine and spices. On the palate, it is silky and fine with an elegant tannin structure, an equally silky but lively acidity and excellent length. A wine for savoury dishes.
