Winery Münzberg Grauer Burgunder 2024
Even in the estate wine class at Münzberg, the Pinot Gris grapes from Landau and Godramstein are hand-harvested. They grow on clay-rich Keuper and calcareous marl soils; fermentation takes place temperature-controlled in stainless steel, after which the wine matures for around three months on the fine lees. The 2024 vintage presents itself with lively acidity, core and stone fruit wrapped in herbal notes, and delicate smoky tones on the finish. A wine that pairs just as well with veal sausage and mashed potatoes as it does with boiled beef served with horseradish and bouillon vegetables.
