Max Müller I
They call themselves wine freaks and it's easy to see why. The wine freaks are called Christian, Jennifer, Rainer and Moni, surnamed Müller, and they produce some of the best wines in Franconia.
This year's summer hit is called "So schmeckt der Sommer' (That's what summer tastes like). It is a Scheurebe from the top Franconian winery Max Müller I. Scheurebe is considered the German answer to French Sauvignon Blanc and is a wonderful aromatic grape variety. The finest examples can be found in Rheinhessen, in the Palatinate and, above all, in Franconia. It is crucial that the "Scheu', is grown in good locations. Such as the Sommeracher Katzenkopf, where a good part of Max Müller I's wine is produced. The wine combines aromas of elderflower, stone fruit, nutmeg and lemon sweets with chalky aspects and herbs. A wine with a fresh acidity characterised by shell limestone and a slightly creamy texture from yeast storage. A lively, lively wine that is simply great fun. (6 bottles)
