Château l'Eglise Clinet
Since Denis Durantou took over his family's winery in 1982, it has developed into one of the best addresses in Pomerol. His two daughters Constance and Noëmie are now successfully continuing his style.
One of the smallest vineyards in Pomerol (just 4.4 hectares) produces very dense, concentrated wines from some very old vines. However, you never get the impression of the typical Pomerol power. The wine never comes across as clumsy or even rustic. Quite the opposite! L'Eglise Clinet is always very refined and in some years shows an incredible brilliance that outshines even a Petrus! The 2024 also benefits from this uniqueness and shows dense, complex aromas of dark fruits and that portion of extravagance that we love so much. It is never cheap, but always worth buying!
