The Steinbühel vineyard was first mentioned in 1322, meaning that wine has been produced here for at least 700 years. The Riesling grows on almost exposed primary rock, was spontaneously fermented, and aged in large wooden barrels. The result is a delicate, tightly knit wine that Michael Malat describes as "ten out of ten? on his scale.
