Expectations for the 2021 Grange were high, and they have been fully met, if not exceeded. For us, this is definitely a 100-point Grange! This Grange is one of the best young vintages we have tasted so far. The 2021 comes from the Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale and Clare Valley, contains 6% Cabernet and was aged for 18 months in new American hogsheads. The colour ranges from deep red to opaque black; the aroma is overwhelming with cassis, cherries, blackberries and blueberries, coffee, aniseed, plums and graphite. On the palate, this wine is absolutely flawless, intense, perfectly balanced, with silky tannins, lively acidity and an incredibly long finish. This is perfection, with at least 50 years of ageing potential.
