Domaine de la Grange des Pères Grange des Pères Rouge Languedoc 2022

Officially, this wine is a local wine from the Hérault region, but unofficially it is one of the greatest wines of the Languedoc, so sought-after that it is only available in very small quantities. The wine is made from around 40% Syrah, which provides structure, dark fruit and peppery notes. The 40% Mourvèdre stands for depth, spice and ageing potential, while the 20% Cabernet Sauvignon provides aristocratic structure and aromatics. Spontaneous fermentation, maceration for 25 to 30 days and 24 months of ageing in barriques – separated by grape variety, with around 30% new wood and 70% multi-year barrels – form the basis for a wine that is more distinctive than almost any other in the south.
