The Belgian Paul-François Vranken founded his eponymous Champagne house in 1976. He is less well known in Germany, but in France he is more successful than few others.
It's hard to believe, but in 50 years Paul-François Vranken has managed to found his own successful house, make brands such as Monopole Heidsieck & Co, Charles Lafitte and Pommery successful and cultivate or control around 10,000 hectares of vineyards in Provence and the Camargue.

The Champagne house named after itself has 200 hectares of prime vineyards, from which Vranken's cellar master Dominique Pichart produces a range of outstanding champagnes. He has been at Paul-François' side for 45 years and has shaped the style of the house. From around 800 different base wines, Pichart assembles the cuvées of the Vranken house, which differ significantly in style. While "Vranken" Brut, Brut Nature and Brut Rosé form the basis with the same cuvée of 25 % Chardonnay, 45 % Pinot Noir and 30 % Pinot Meunier, the "Demoiselle" brand has been the house's middle range since 1985 with cuvées of around 70 % Chardonnay, 20 % Pinot Noir and 10 % Pinot Meunier, supplemented by the addition of still wine in the case of rosé. The prestige cuvée is called "Diamant". The white, polished bottle, which is always wrapped in yellow cellophane, and the name are naturally reminiscent of Roederer's Cristal. In addition to the rosé, Diamant is available as a non-vintage Brut with 50% Chardonnay and 50% Pinot Noir from 15 Premier and Grand Cru vineyards, as well as a Blanc de Blancs from the current vintage.
