Château Gloria is considered one of the best Cru Bourgeois in Bordeaux. The vineyards are all located in Saint-Julien and are of the highest quality.

Château Gloria was founded in the 1940s by the then mayor of Saint-Julien, Henri Martin. This explains why the vineyard has never achieved the rank of Grand Cru Classé, although it has long been categorised as such in terms of quality. Today, the estate with its 50 hectares of vineyards belongs to the Domaines Henri Martin, which are owned by the Triaud family. In addition to the "Château "Gloria", there is also a second wine made from young vines, the "Château Peymartin".

Henri Martin, who later managed Château Latour and was president of the Bordeaux Winegrowers' Association CIVB, acquired plots in three different locations in Saint-Julien from 1939 onwards, all of which belonged to vineyards that had been awarded Grand Cru status in the 1855 classification. They are located in the centre of Beychevelle, further west towards Lagrange and bordering Pauillac to the north, so the terroir ranges from Gunzian gravel to light clay-sand and gravel. The vineyards are planted with 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot. Depending on the vintage, the wine matures for 12 to 14 months in oak barrels with 40% new wood. Since the 2016 vintage, fermentation and ageing have taken place in a new cellar with new stainless steel tanks. Gloria is a fine, early-drinking Saint-Julien that matures well and benefits from the expertise of estate manager Rémy di Constanzo, formerly of Cos d'Estrournel, and his advisor Eric Boissenot.
