The picturesque château in the heart of the Margaux appellation is somewhat hidden in the middle of its vineyards, just off the so-called "Rue du Château".
The château has a long history dating back to the 17th century. In the 1855 classification, the vineyard was categorised as the Deuxième Grand Cru Classé of Margaux. After quality problems were rectified around 60 years ago through considerable investment in the cellar, Rauzan Ségla returned to the Bordeaux elite. Further improvements under the new owners, the Wertheimer family (Chanel Group), which also owns the two St. Emilion wine estates Château Canon and Château Berliquet, have once again raised the quality to a new level. Today, Rauzan Ségla is one of the leading châteaux in the Margaux appellation.
An exceptional wine is created from the four grape varieties Cabernet Sauvugnon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot on around 50 hectares. Rauzan Ségla has always embodied the virtues of Margaux. The wines are of the highest elegance. Silky tannins, complex flavours and respect for the unique terroir lead to great harmony and longevity.
