The Château Tronquoy winery is not only the direct neighbour of Montrose with almost the same terroir, the owners and team are also the same. This makes the "Grand Vin" an excellent wine value.

Seek and ye shall find. That's how we felt when we were looking for a Bordeaux Saint-Estèphe in which we wanted to find a quality like that of the Grand Cru Classé Montrose without wanting to pay a three-figure price. We found the wine right next door at Château Tronquoy, which was still called Tronquoy-Lalande until 2019. Of course, Tronquoy is not Montrose, but there is a lot of similarity here, as the 30 hectares are largely located in the direct neighbourhood of Montrose on the third gravel terrace of the Médoc. It has also had the same owners since 2006 and therefore the same experienced team of oenologists.

At Tronquoy, there is both stability in the form of the estate manager Yves Delsol, who has been working there for 35 years, and change in the form of a new, state-of-the-art cellar and a new barrel cellar, which allows the team to work much more precisely and accurately, which is noticeable in the wines. The vineyards are planted with 52% Merlot, 39% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Petit Verdot and 3% Cabernet Franc. There is also a little Sémillon and Sauvignon Gris for two white wines.
