The Comte Georges de Vogüé wine estate in Chambolle-Musigny is one of the most prestigious on the Côte de Nuits and is now 575 years old. It has been owned by the same family since its foundation.
It is nothing short of a miracle that the family has managed to hold on to the estate through all the vicissitudes of time. Even during the French Revolution and a temporary exile abroad, the estate has been preserved. So there has always been great continuity here. For a long time, Eric Bourgogne was responsible for the vineyard, François Millet for the cellar and Jean-Luc Pépin for the administration. But since the 2021 vintage, Jean Lupatelli has been in charge as winemaker and there have been some much-needed changes. The fermentation cellar has been re-equipped, the white grapes are now pressed as whole bunches and the red grapes are fermented more gently. The result is a new style that brings an exciting new freshness and excitement to the wines.

It is not only the age of the winery that is special, but also the vineyard portfolio, which has always remained small and clearly organised. But the vineyards have it all! It has around 12 hectares, 7.2 of which are in the Musigny Grand Cru! The estate, which was named after Comte Georges de Vogüé in 1925, also owns 2.7 hectares in Bonnes Mares Grand Cru, 0.56 hectares in Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Amoureuses, 2.04 hectares in Chambolle-Musigny Village and 0.65 hectares in Bourgogne Blanc. The estate not only has half of the Musigny Grand Cru vineyard, it is also the only one that produces a white Grand Cru here - and thus the only one in the entire Côte de Nuits.
