Where the world-famous Meursault and Volnay appellations meet on the Côte de Beaune is the home of the legendary Domaine des Comtes Lafon winery.
For more than 40 years, Dominique Lafon has characterised a Meursault style that is difficult to describe in words: creamy, full of tension, mineral, salty, balanced ... it always borders on perfection! When you have one of the wines from the premium vineyards of the Meursault appellation - there is also a small parcel in the world-famous Montrachet vineyard - in your glass, you immediately get the impression: Chardonnay can perhaps be made differently, but certainly not better! The calling card for this is the monopollage „Meursault Clos de la Barre“ directly at the winery.
Their Volnays from the creamy Santenots and Clos des Chênes are also world-class and are always on the hedonistic, almost sensual side thanks to the destemming and well-dosed use of wood. Comtes Lafon has a large fan base worldwide. It is always difficult to get hold of just a few bottles from the winery's 16 hectares of vineyards.
