Maxime Renaudin is a young autodidact whose talent was discovered and encouraged by none other than Laurent Vaillé from the legendary Domaine La Grange des Pères. Today, he himself produces rare and highly sought-after wines that are among the best that the Languedoc has to offer.
Maxime Renaudin founded his domaine in 2018 after his apprenticeship with Laurent Vaillé, who sadly passed away in 2021. It is located in Combaillaux in the north of the Languedoc. The five hectares of vineyards are located around the village of Jonquières, just 15 minutes away from Domaine La Grange des Pères.

The soils there are characterised by clay and limestone, in which Syrah, Grenache and Carignan are rooted. Maxime carries out a strict selection during the manual harvest and completely destemmed the grapes. This is followed by spontaneous maceration for around one month before the wine is aged in wood for 24 months. Maxime Renaudin is lucky enough to receive exactly the same batches of barrels from Tonnellerie Maison François Frères as Domaine de la Romanée-Conti. It doesn't get any better than this and you can feel it in the wine, for which he uses 30% used and 70% multi-year barrels. The result is a great wine of the south, which unfortunately has one decisive disadvantage: barely more than 2,500 bottles are produced each year.
