Château Berliquet winery

"Shaped by the tension of the limestone and the strength of the clay."

The vineyards of Château Berliquet are located on the western flank of Saint-Émillion and have remained virtually unchanged in their parcelling for over 200 years. Like Rauzan-Ségla and Canon, Berliquet now belongs to CHANEL.

From the top of the limestone plateau, the vineyards of the Grand Cru Classé estate slope down towards the Dordogne. The further one descends, the more the clay comes to the fore. The contiguous 10 hectares are planted exclusively with Merlot and Cabernet Franc.

The same team that also works for Château Canon carries out precise analyses to ensure that the planting is optimally matched to the diversity of the soil. The goal: "More and more precise top wines."

The carefully selected and destemmed grapes are fermented plot by plot in stainless steel tanks. The wines mature for 16 months in barrels in the limestone quarries and also in eight large amphorae.
