Buy wines from Château Lynch-Bages
Château Lynch-Bages in Paulliac was founded in 1749 and was categorised as a "Cinquième Grand Crus Classé" in the 1855 classification. Today, there are those who consider some vintages to be at Deuxième Cru level.
The "more recent" history of the estate began in the 1930s, when Jean-Charles Cazes first leased and then purchased the estate. From 1972 until his death in 2023, it was in the hands of his grandson Jean-Michel Cazes - one of the most active figures in the wine business in the Médoc and beyond.
According to the motto "in techno veritas", Lynch-Bages goes to extraordinary lengths. Since 2006, Technical Director Nicolas Labenne and his team have continuously combined satellite technology and soil analyses to precisely divide the plots for the perfect terroir expression. The red classics (73 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 15 % Merlot, 10 % Cabernet Franc, 2 % Petit Verdot) are planted on around 100 hectares of gravel with a limestone foundation. One parcel is planted with white grape varieties.
From harvest to vinification, the use of technology and manual labour complement each other. The aim is to create individual personalities for each parcel.
