Château Quintus Winery

"We wanted to create a new star of the right bank."

Château Qiuntus was originally founded in the 18th century as Château Tertre-Daugay. it was acquired by Domaine Clarence Dillon in 2011. As it was the fifth winery in the group and they wanted to refer to the Gallo-Roman roots of viticulture, it was given its current name Quintus.

Since then, two more châteaux have been added, so that Château Quintus now has 42 hectares of vineyards and is one of the largest wine estates in Saint-Émilion. "Quintus is situated on a limestone cliff 62 metres above the Dordogne valley.

The north, west and south-facing plateau offers an incredible wealth of microclimates and limestone soils that allow the best expression of the Merlot and Cabernet Franc grape varieties."

The plots are harvested and selected by hand. Wooden and stainless steel tanks are used for fermentation. For vinification, even individual parcels are subdivided into different lots so that as many "building blocks" as possible are available for the blend. Maturation in barriques lasts 12 to 18 months, depending on the vintage.
