Ihringen am Kaiserstuhl is not only the home of the Dr. Heger winery, but also one of the warmest places in Germany. This is where traditionally powerful wines are produced. Joachim and Silvia Heger's outstanding products add elegance and minerality.
The couple, who are the third generation of the family to run the winery, are rightly proud of their two great vineyards, Ihringer Winklerberg and Achkarrer Schlossberg. Extremely steep, extremely hot and extremely stony, they offer optimal conditions for the production of expressive terroir wines of the varieties Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc and Riesling, but also Silvaner, Chardonnay and Muscat.
Volcanic weathered rock and loess characterise the soil structure, which, together with the climatic conditions and careful and sustainable work in the vineyard and cellar, ensure wines full of character and subtle finesse.
