Lenzmark is the merger of the two wine professionals Lenz Moser and Markus Huber. They founded this joint venture to give Grüner Veltliner a major new international boost. That is why the wine also bears an English name: "New Chapter".
2020 was the first vintage of this wine to be brought to market by two greats of Austrian viticulture. Markus Huber took over his parents' winery in 2000 at the age of 21, converted it to organic farming and made it one of the best in the Traisental. Lenz Moser comes from the Austrian winegrowing dynasty of the same name and has excellent international connections. He was Managing Director of Robert Mondavi Europe GmbH, Managing Partner of TxB International Fine Wines, shareholder of Laurenz Five Fine Wines GmbH and has been Chief Winemaker of Château Changyu Moser XV in the Chinese wine-growing region of Ninxia since 2015.
The pair produced their first three vintages with Grüner Veltliner bought in from friends in the Traisental valley. They wanted to test how the wine would be received. In fact, it has been very well received, even in markets such as Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Great Britain and Japan. And it is served in the business class of Emirates airline on European flights. With the 2023 vintage, another new chapter has been opened with the „New Chapter“ and the wine now comes entirely from Markus Huber's certified organic vineyards.
