The Rebholz family has been producing wines in Siebeldingen in the Palatinate for over 400 years. Today it is one of the most famous wineries in Germany - thanks to its outstanding vineyards and its very clear and unmistakable house style.
If you look at the simple shape of the labels with the green grape and the handwriting, then, if you know the winery, you must think it is pure understatement. Those unfamiliar with the wines may even pass by the bottles and turn their attention to those with more modern labels. But at some point you are sure to come across a wine from Ökonomierat Rebholz. After all, the family, above all Hansjörg Rebholz, has worked hard to earn its first-class reputation.

The VDP vineyard is one of the listed buildings in the centre of Siebeldingen. Today, it has 26 hectares of certified organic and biodynamic vineyards. In addition to 42% Riesling, more than 40% Burgundy and Chardonnay can be found here, as well as Gewürztraminer, Muscat, Silvaner and Sauvignon Blanc. The wines are vinified completely dry as natural wines, i.e. with as little intervention as possible. Temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks are preferred to wooden barrels.
The family's portfolio of vineyards is outstanding. The vineyards are characterised by Rotliegend, shell limestone, red sandstone, loess loam and slate and are also vinified according to the terroir. The best, the so-called VDP.Grosse Lagen are located in Kastanienbusch, Im Sonnenschein, Im Sonnenschein-Ganz Horn, Mandelberg and Schäwer. Hansjörg Rebholz has earned an excellent reputation, particularly with his Rieslings, sparkling wines and Chardonnay. His two sons Valentin and Hans are also revisiting the theme of Pinot Noir and interpreting it in a fresher and more precise way, so that even more of its potential can be bottled. The last vintages produced by father and sons are among the best ever produced here.
