Château Pape Clément
Yes, you are right, because the name says it all: this vineyard belonged to a pope, more precisely to Clement V - and that was at the beginning of the 14th century.
The rather riper, typically rich fruit of Pape Clément has a particularly positive effect in this initially somewhat austere vintage. It is therefore hardly surprising that this cru classé from Pessac Leognan, along with a few other 2011s, is at the top of the Parker ranking for the vintage. 96/100 PP!
