Winery Fritz Haag Riesling dry QbA 2019
Quite a few wine lovers believe that the general quality of a winery can be recognised by its estate wine. This supposedly "simple' estate Riesling from exceptional Mosel winegrower Oliver Haag is good proof of this theory. The ripe grapes with racy acidity come from slate vineyards in and around Brauneberg, which an enthusiastic Stephan Reinhardt attests to in WINE ADVOCATE as having "substance, finesse and elegance' as well as "lightness, precision and tension'. In combination with the "spectacularly long finish', he awarded it a sensational 94 points - for an estate wine.
